“And even without YouTube, I don't know if I would've been able to keep going. “I was completely overwhelmed already, so stressed out,” Grazzy recalls. His YouTube success provided a perfectly timed out. Grazzy had just started college, but was already feeling like it wasn’t for him. His video blew up, netting him a massive surge of new followers and encouraging him to keep going. On a whim, he tried an idea he’d been sitting on for a while: building all of Breath of the Wild in Minecraft, starting with the Great Plateau.įortunately for Grazzy, this was the exact change he needed. After a few years, he became bored and felt limited by what he could do in that format. Grazzy is a content creator on YouTube who, prior to his great Hyrule building adventure, filled his channel with videos of the mobile game Geometry Dash, and later, playing Minecraft in Hardcore mode. Stay tuned to their user page on Reddit right here for future updates. Now, one player is revisiting every last inch of that original Breath of the Wild map by reconstructing it to the tree… in Minecraft. This custom Minecraft map is not currently available for download, but Dinaeh has stated that they may make it available in the future. Once it is completed, I would highly recommend any Minecraft-ers out there to give it a try. Overall, I would say that this map is quite impressive. Special textures have been added to recreate the look of the ancient Sheikah’s Shrines and Towers. There are now custom Bokoblins in the map to serve as enemies. Additional users have contributed to the map to create a further sense of immersion in the blocky Hyrule. After this, he spent untold hours sculpting the various landscapes, towns, and Sheikah Towers. According to the announcement post, Dianeh started with a rough bump map to get the general shape and elevation of Hyrule. If one has shader mods installed in their Minecraft client, the game world looks as good as the actual terrains in Breath of the Wild. Each location and settlement has been created in an impressive level of detail. This expansive project must have taken weeks of work to get this far. Reddit user Dinaeh has nearly completed a full-scale recreation of Breath of the Wild‘s map in Minecraft.
